MMA Cyber Patriot Team Advances to Finals

Marine Military Academy Cyber Patriot Team did an outstanding job in the Semi Final round competition placing 8th out of 44 teams in the all service division. MMA placed second in the Marine Division; which qualifies us for the finals.
Cyber Patriot Semi- Final Round
The semi-final Cyber Patriot round was different than before due to the addition of a forensic challenge to it along with Windows Server 2008 and Ubuntu 10.04. Cadets had to find and fix all vulnerabilities to Windows server and Ubuntu. The forensic portion of it consisted of text, and image files which were encrypted they had to decrypt, or decode each one for points. The final round will be held in Washington DC on March 14-16, 2013. We will be competing against the other Marine divisions teams and all the other JROTC schools that made it to the finals. We will be competing for the 1st place Marine trophy and the top three trophy’s for the top JROTC teams. There will be also another competition in Washington, DC which is part of Cyber Patriot and will be Forensic. This competition will have every team competes against each other for 1st place trophy.
MMA Cyber Patriot Team members include the following cadets: Team Captain Kyle Rogers, Class Leader Jose Rodriguez, Dylan Che, Daniil Murashov, Drew Hopkins, Obiajulu Ezenwabachili and Coach/instructor William Beckman. Be sure to wish them luck in DC.
