Marksmanship at Marine Military Academy
Marksmanship at Marine Military Academy is a well rounded and complete program that introduces cadets to everything from proper and safe handling of firearms, transitioning to the fundamental of marksmanship, to becoming a proficient competition marksman in both the air rifle and air pistol. Shooters learn to shoot from a sitting, kneeling, and standing positions. There are two types of competition matches. “Postal” matches are fired here at our own indoor firing range and the paper targets are then mailed to the scoring judge. “Shoulder-to-shoulder” matches require the shooters to travel to the location and fire the match in person with all competitors present. MMA participates in both types of competitions.
Civilian Marksmanship Program
All shooters are enrolled into the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) and as they shoot different competitions, his history record is kept and used as a source of reference for shooting badges, ribbons, and medals. Scholarships are also available for those shooters that constantly display exceptional marksmanship skills.
Marksmanship Coaches
Marksmanship Coaches at the range are certified Primary Marksmanship Instructors, and also certified through the CMP as instructors.
