Forty-one “brothers” returned to their former home and alma mater for the Marine Military Academy 2015 Alumni Reunion April 17-18.
On April 17, the men enjoyed an afternoon of activities at MMA. The alumni, along with their family and friends, first gathered at high noon on Battalion Avenue for the MMA Corps of Cadets pass in review and then joined the cadets for lunch. Later, alumni shared their stories and advice with the Class of 2015 and then passed out the senior pins.
Many more Leathernecks arrived in time for the 2015 Alumni Reunion Parade, and they all joined Superintendent Col R. Glenn Hill for the ceremonial pass in review. The MMA brothers then attended a reception following the parade.
On April 18, the alumni spent the day at South Padre Island. That evening, the men and their guests all gathered for a dinner party at the Hilton Garden Inn.
At the dinner party, artist Todd Krasovetz of San Diego unveiled his “March Through Time: Marine Military Academy 50 Years of Excellence” painting. Because the painting was gifted to MMA by alumnus Jorge Ramirez Tubilla, Class of 1995, Superintendent Col R. Glenn Hill chose to reveal the painting at the reunion dinner.
The work of art will be permanently displayed at MMA beginning August 2015. The 2015-16 school year marks the 50th anniversary of MMA.
