Painting in classrooms, repairs to barracks rooms and numerous groundskeeping tasks\u00a0are all part of the\u00a0normal small projects\u00a0when cadets are gone and this year is no exception.\u00a0 This year there\u00a0are two\u00a0major project that\u00a0are being tackled during the break from classes.<\/p>\n<h2>Facilities Work Includes New Chiller<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to the normal housekeeping chores this\u00a0year the Facilities Department first major project was the removal of one of the old chillers and installation of a new one.\u00a0 This was no small task as the chillers exceed sixteen thousand pounds <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/newchiller1.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9716\" title=\"newchiller\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/newchiller1-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"facilities work\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/newchiller1-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/newchiller1.jpg 584w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>each and had to be moved from a flat bed trailer into the chiller plant.\u00a0 The first step in this process was the disconnecting of all electrical and water hookups to the old chiller.\u00a0 The old chiller was next lifted onto rollers to slide out of the building where the crane could lift it out of the way.\u00a0 Once the area was cleared all electrical hookup for the new chiller were installed and the new chiller was lifted off of the flat bed trailer.\u00a0 Once the trailer was cleared the crane lifted the old chiller onto the trailer to move to the Facilities Shop until it could be removed.\u00a0 Work then began on moving the new chiller into place and getting all the numerous water and electrical connections hooked up.\u00a0 The new chiller will be online before cadets return to classes next week so there will be no interruption in cooling to all the buildings.\u00a0 <i>Facilities work<\/i> included all the electrical work on the chiller hookups which was handled by <em>All Electric<\/em>, owned by MMA Alumni, Mr. Harold Zurlo!<\/p>\n<h2>Facilities Work On Headquarters Building<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/roof1.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9758\" title=\"roof\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/roof1-300x236.jpg\" alt=\"facilties work\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/roof1-300x236.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/roof1.jpg 541w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The next\u00a0major Facilites work project\u00a0begun during the break is\u00a0replacement of the roofing on the MMA Headquarters Building.\u00a0 This work is to repair and replace damage from Hurricane Dolly that has yet to be completed.\u00a0 Work began this week and should be finished within the next couple of weeks.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Facilities work<\/span> also includes replacement of poles on the LEAD Complex that are used for our Rope Bridging event.\u00a0 All belay cables on the High Ropes course are also slated for replacement in the spring and all necessary hardware and cable are already on hand for this project.\u00a0 Work will be completed on these events in time for cadets to try them out before departure for the summer.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h3>Facilities Work on Confidence Course Continues<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ladder1.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9759\" title=\"ladder\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ladder1-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"facilities work\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ladder1-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ladder1.jpg 565w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Mr. Jose &#8220;Chester&#8221;
