At the parade, the plebes, in formation, were marched to the center of the parade field. On command, they affixed the official insignia of the U.S. Marine Corps to their cover. This was followed by the Cadet Battalion Commander leading them in the “MMA Creed.” At the conclusion of the creed, the new cadets were directed to “fall uut” from the plebe formation and join their cadet company for their first “pass in review” as a Marine Military Academy cadet. This officially ended their plebe training.

After the plebe graduation parade , the new cadets were released to their families for a well-deserved weekend off, which normally includes trips to fast food restaurants, the mall and, possibly, South Padre Island. The weekend passed quickly and the new cadets returned to campus by 6 p.m. on Sunday for CCQ (closed all to quarters) and the start of a new phase of their life.
