In early morning the cadets started their round about 8:08 a.m. and finished at 2:08 p.m.<\/p>\n<h2>Cyber Patriot Competition Problems<\/h2>\n<p>On\u00a0a Windows server 2003, which was a mail relay server, their job was to make sure the server primary service stayed up and removed any vulnerabilities within 6 hours.\u00a0 They\u00a0received\u00a0a score of 95% on this portion of the competition.\u00a0 \u00a0On the\u00a0second server, which was an Ubuntu system,\u00a0the vulnerabilities were a lot more difficult to find and fix.\u00a0 Due to the way the instructions were written, it required a lot more thought because\u00a0they not sure what they were supposed to do.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0They were supposed to determine which of the many services was under attack\u00a0and harden and\u00a0protect it against vulnerabilities.\u00a0 According to Mr. Beckman the team did an overall outstanding job.\u00a0 Way to go Devil Dogs.<\/p>\n<h3><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/cyber-patriot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"cyber-patriot\" alt=\"cyber patriot\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/cyber-patriot-300x224.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a>Cyber Patriot Team<\/h3>\n<p>The team consists of the following cadets: \u00a0Team Captain Scott Strauss, Douglas Hodge, Logan Workman, Dylan Che, Jose Rodriguez, and Daniil Murashov.\u00a0 \u00a0Unfortunately our team did not score quite high enough on this round and\u00a0did not make it to the Final Round.\u00a0 We got 3rd in the Marine Division, and 13 place out of 39 teams in round 3.\u00a0 Way to go devil dogs&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>Check out the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleymorningstar.com\/articles\/three-97601-harlingen-mma.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">Valley Morning Star<\/a>\u00a0article about the Marine Military Academy <i>Cyber Patriot<\/i> team.<\/h3>\n<p>You may want to check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CyberPatriot\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cyber Patriot<\/span> Facebook<\/a> page or check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uscyberpatriot.org\/Pages\/default.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow\">Cyber Patriot Homepage<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marine Military Academy Cyber Patriot Team, Round 3 On Saturday January 14, 2012 MMA Devil Dogs started the third round\u00a0of Cyber Patriot competition.
