I came to MMA because I wanted\u00a0a new experience.\u00a0 I always wanted to come to a university in America, therefore I decided to come a year before college\u00a0and experience the culture and diversity of\u00a0 a new environment before making my decision.\u00a0 Although I was actually born in Houston,\u00a0Texas I\u00a0never actually lived here so it was a new experience for me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I heard abouat MMA from my cousin and his mother; he goes to school here.\u00a0 I decided to try it out because I like the sound of\u00a0a military experience.\u00a0 I came for summer camp and loved it!\u00a0 Summer camp definitely influenced my decision.\u00a0 All the new people I met and the fun physical things I got to do.\u00a0 This made me want to gain the military experience.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The thing I like most about MMA is the competition!\u00a0 I am a very competitive person and I love to win!\u00a0 The competition on that goes on in MMA really pushes all the cadets to achieve greatness and do things to the best of their abiltiy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;MMA has really helped me with my feiar of heights.\u00a0 From all the Back 40 events like the rappel tower, high ropes course and the zipline, to the aerospace flying program.\u00a0 Also MMA has taught me a lot about responsibility and discipline, getting me ready to be on my own at college.\u00a0 this program has really helped me a lot.\u00a0 I am pleased to have gotten this opportunity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0\u00a0 Cadet Firas Sandakli<\/h3>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/sandakli.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-10176\" title=\"sandakli\" alt=\"international students\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/sandakli-300x266.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/sandakli-300x266.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/sandakli.jpg 817w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Home: Beirut, Lebanon<br \/>\nAge: 16<br \/>\nYear: Junior<br \/>\nYears at MMA: First<br \/>\nRank: Cadet Private First Class<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; I came to MMA because I am the kind of person who likes the military and its activities.\u00a0 I also came here for the education.\u00a0 I was a bad student and always earning bad grades, so I heard about MMA, a college prep school and thought it would help me if I go there.\u00a0 Plus it is a new experience for me that I would like to try.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; What I like most is the respect people give each other, cadets saluting other cadets; that&#8217;s amazing.\u00a0 I also like how MMA actually follows military rules, the obstacle courses and the physical training every other day.\u00a0 Makes you feel like a true Marine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;MMA has done a lot for me.\u00a0 I&#8217;m earning better grades that I used to.\u00a0 I used to always be lazy back home and my maids did everything for me.\u00a0 After being at MMA I do everything myself.\u00a0 MMA has made me a young man and taught me how to respect and be respected by others.\u00a0 I&#8217;m a new person now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0 Cadet Nathanael Ntumba<\/h3>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/ntumbe.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-10181\" title=\"ntumbe\" alt=\"international students\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/ntumbe-300x266.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/ntumbe-300x266.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mma-tx.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/ntumbe.jpg 798w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Born: Madagascar<br \/>\nAge: 18<br \/>\nYear: Senior<br \/>\nYears at MMA: First<br \/>\nRank: Cadet Corporal<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; I came to MMA because I wanted to be a Marine for five\u00a0 years.\u00a0 I felt that somehow this school would help prepare me for the Marine Corps.\u00a0 In some aspects it has.\u00a0 I also came here to go above and beyond what I&#8217;m capable of.\u00a0 I came here to prepare for the Marine Corps because I want to join after high school.
