SgtMaj Jim Poe

boy scoutsBoy Scouts Troop 22 continued towards completion of the Citizenship in the Community merit badge at the Tuesday meeting. Troop leaders opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the  Scout Oath and Law. They completed viewing of a recent Harlingen, TX, city commission meeting (merit badge requirement). The troop then recognized Cody Hubbard who attained Life Scout rank, and Miguel Salinas, who earned advancement to Tenderfoot Scout (pictured together). These boys are two outstanding Boy Scouts who lead the way with disciplined focus, and by setting the example. Hubbard is in the planning stages of a suitable Eagle Scout Community Service Leadership Project, as he intends to gain advancement to Eagle rank this school year. Boy Scouts Troop 22 member and Senior Patrol Leader Alfonso Garza (pictured) earned recognition as the Golf Company Cadet of the Month for October (second award).  He is quickly gaining recognition as a star cadet around campus. It is wonderful to see these young men running down the path to achievement. A super-sized congratulation goes to these Scouts!

Life Scout Nick Bailey plans to put the wrap on his Eagle Scout Community Service Leadership Project this weekend. He has enlisted a motivated team of individuals who swear they can handle the rigors associated with the use of a paint brush.  Let’s hope they don’t show up in their finest suit and ties for this event! Story and photos coming soon….
