First Semester Academic Awards

academic awardsThe Academic Awards Ceremony for the first semester of the 2011-12 school year was held on Feb. 3 at Yeckel Auditorium. The Academy Superintendent, Col. R.G. Hill and the Dean, Dr. John Butler presented 39 cadets with a Gold or Silver Wreath, representing the highest level of academic achievement.  The Silver Wreath is awarded to cadets who make the Dean’s List, which requires a grade-point-average of 3.5 to 3.74. The Gold Wreath is awarded to cadets who make the President’s List, which requires a grade-point-average of 3.75 to 4.0. The cadets wear their wreath on their uniform throughout the year.

A total of 20 cadets received their Gold Academic Awards and assignment to the President’s List :

Alpha Company:  Cadets William Bood, Cody Brown and Robert Rice.

Delta Company:  Cadets Gabriel Gonzales and Cody Hubbard

Echo Company:  Cadets Andrew Colson, Brando Fematt Rodriguez, Sebastion Gamboa, Thomas Goaley, Bruno Lopez Alverez and Seung Ho Park

Fox Company:   Cadets James Calcagnini Jr., Richard Farr and Alexander Stack

Golf Company:  Cadets Alfonso Garcia Garza, Chaunce Lee and Ivan Vidishez

                Silver Academic Awards

Alpha Company:  Cadets Parker Chapin, Michael McGraw, Ramiro Rodriguez, Miguel Salinas, Trevor Searle, Kyle Watson and Tyler Weale

Delta Company:  Cadets Aboira Irumudomon, Rober Pearson Jr. and Jarrod Royal

Echo Company:  Cadets Michael Huang, Samuel Hudson and Travis Oard

Fox Company:  Cadets Zachary Cianflone, Robert Lauzon, Thomas Miller, Andres Orjuela, Sresourya Suryadevara and Bruno Tostado Leal.

Congratulations to all Academic Awards recipients

academic awardsThe staff and faculty of Marine Military Academy wish to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all Academic Awards recipients for the hard work they have put into acheiving this honor!  In recognition of their academic performance, those Cadets list above were excused from classes and granted a special half day liberty in town on Friday, 27 January 2012.
