Dear Marine Military Academy Summer Camp Families:
We extend a warm welcome to our returning summer camp families for 2022, and to the new summer camp families joining us this year. We have 405 boys on campus participating in our summer camp program.
The first Marine Military Academy (MMA) Summer Camp commenced over 30 years ago. Since then, thousands of boys have enjoyed a demanding fun-filled summer, experiencing challenging obstacles and activities, honing their confidence and courage all while making new friends along the way. Your sons and grandsons will enjoy learning ceremonial drill, and military leadership while having fun doing things they may have never done before like learning to rappel, rock wall climbing, conquering our obstacle courses, and shooting the air rifles at the rifle range. They will also take part in familiar activities like cooling off in the pool, playing various sports, and other fun activities.
We encourage all campers to try new things because we know the value of a challenge. At MMA, we understand the importance of keeping parents informed and in touch. You should all have the contact information for your son’s Drill Instructor (DI). If for some reason you did not receive this information or have misplaced it, please contact SSgt Diaz: diaz@mma-tx.org 956-421-9262 or Mrs. Tammie Smythe our Social Director at: tsmythe@mma-tx.org or call 956-421-9261.
Throughout the summer, we keep our parents updated and we will show pictures of various activities with your sons. These updates will be on our main MMA Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MarineMilitaryAcademy/ and on your son’s Company Facebook page. Please be patient with the Company Facebook updates as your son’s Drill Instructor’s priority is the health and wellbeing of the campers entrusted to him. Your son’s DI will share the Facebook link with the families of his campers. Please know that we strive to get photos of each camper on these pages.
We are always endeavoring to offer fun and challenging programs to pique the interest of each young man. Any questions or concerns please contact the Company DI.
We look forward to a wonderful summer with your sons and grandsons.
Respectfully,

Christopher S. Dowling
