Superintendent’s Christmas Greeting 2012

Season’s Greeting from Col. R.G. Hill

It seems like only yesterday that MMA was having fall registration. New cadets and their families were going through the registration process and returning cadets were checking back into the barracks. A new school year was beginning, and the students were back. MMA campus was alive, and excitement filled the air.

Today the campus is quiet. Cadets, faculty and staff have all departed for the holidays. Now there is a different spirit in the air…the joy of being back with family and friends. In life, there is a time for everything. Now is the time to slow down and spend time with loved ones … and to cherish what is really important.

During this holiday season, I ask that we all take some time to reflect on our many blessings and the true meaning of Christmas. President Calvin Coolidge once said, “Christmas is not a time or season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real Christmas spirit.”

Please also take some time to remember the men and women serving in the Armed Forces of this great nation, especially those serving away from their families and those serving in harm’s way.

Jodi and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year. We cannot wait for the campus to come alive again in January and to see all of the cadets return for another exciting semester!
