Instructed by MSgt Rob Fracasso, USMC (Ret), both units perform at all cadet parades, as well as compete in three to six military skill meets throughout the year.
The MMA drill team exemplifies incredible discipline, teamwork and proficiency as it performs complex maneuvers of close order and exhibition drills with 10-pound M-14 rifles — all without the sound of commands.
The MMA color guard, aptly named after the unit’s display of both the National and Academy colors, appears at a wide variety of civic events throughout the school year adding dynamic flair through synchronized marching and spinning of flags and rifles.
All cadets are welcome to try out for the drill team or color guard at the beginning of the fall semester and again at mid term. However, in order to qualify, participants must show a reasonable amount of manual dexterity, balance and concentration.
