Adolescence can be a challenging time for a young man. Without structure and discipline it is easy for a teenager to become misguided and not live up to his full potential. An accredited military school can provide the support, direction and guidance needed to prepare a young man for a successful college career, as well as give him valuable tools to navigate any obstacles that life may put in his path. He will enter a military academy as a teenage boy, and graduate as a man of strength—physically, mentally, emotionally and morally.
As a top-tier academy, Marine Military Academy (MMA) creates an environment of discipline and structure where young men can thrive. The foundation of the school is based on the values and traditions of the United States Marine Corps—one of the best examples of organizational leadership found in our country. Marines are often considered to be a “cut-above” servicemen in other branches of the military due to the intense pride, loyalty, morality, leadership and strength that they display. Our goal is for the cadets that attend our academy to embrace these values in order to leave our institution as better men.
The cadets at MMA come from a wide range of backgrounds culturally, economically and academically, but no matter what a young man’s background is, he can learn valuable life lessons during his time at MMA. Parents can rest assured knowing that sending their son to MMA is one of the best ways to ensure him a successful future. Nearly 97% of our students are accepted into post-secondary educational institutions, with 80% attending four-year universities. At MMA we promote academic excellence, and strongly encourage all of our cadets to work hard in order to exceed what they believe they can achieve.
One of the most important lessons we aim to teach our cadets is personal responsibility. At MMA, we expect our cadets to make intelligent choices and follow through on their commitments. They must understand that rules need to be followed, and respect must be given to others. Daily life at MMA promotes the growth of a cadet’s confidence in himself and his abilities, as well as the discipline that he needs to fulfill his responsibilities.
In addition to a strong academic program, MMA offers a variety of clubs and athletic activities to encourage teamwork and the development of leadership skills. MMA is not like other military academies—our program is proven to enhance our students’ view of themselves and their role in their communities. The lessons taught at MMA stick with our cadets through more than just their years here—our graduates apply what they have learned here throughout their entire lives.
