MMAMilitary High Schools - Marine Military Academy

A challenging, traditional military high school, Marine Military Academy (MMA) stands a cut above the others. Unlike some private schools, the setting is structured and rules are enforced, with the primary goal being to prepare young men for college. The environment is geared toward developing the 'whole man' - academically, mentally, spiritually, and physically.

Through its traditional military high schools enviroment, the Marine Military Academy emphasizes college preparation. MMA delivers on this commitment with ninety-five percent of its graduates are accepted into post secondary education; 80% to four year colleges and universities with the remaining 20% going to community colleges. MMA graduates in recent years have attended Stanford, Brown, Colgate, UT, Texas A&M, the Service Academies, and others.

The Corps of Cadets at MMA is comprised of young men from different cultural, economic, social, and academic MMAbackgrounds as any other educational institution. Some young men come to MMA with aspirations to one day attend a prestigious university or service academy, others come because they especially appreciate a structured, military environment. Others choose MMA from among other private schools because of the parents' determination to give their sons the best possible opportunities for a successful future.

The Marine Military Academy Academic Department provides all cadets with the necessary academic and intellectual tools to succeed in college. The faculty and staff provide a dynamic curriculum that prepares our cadets for a successful college experience. They provide structured, challenging and innovative instruction that exceeds national norms. Cadets are exposed to leadership challenges in academic and community settings designed to evoke their full potential.

MMAThe college placement program provides for class and group counseling during the eighth, ninth and tenth grades and individualized scheduled counseling in the junior and senior year. SAT Preparatory Class, a required, one semester course for all cadets, provides intensified test practice and instruction in testing techniques and career guidance. The College Placement Office staff provides cadets with individualized guidance on educational planning, scholarship and financial aid guidance, career counseling, and complete college application processing.
