MMAMilitary Boarding Schools: The Marine Military Academy sets a standard of excellence.

Military boarding schools are frequently a choice for parents who want the best in academic excellence for their children. The Marine Military Academy (MMA), a college preparatory boarding school, is equipped to provide young men a top quality education and more. The Marine Military Academy Academic Department provides all cadets with the necessary academic and intellectual tools to succeed in college. The environment is geared toward developing the 'whole man' - academically, mentally, spiritually, and physically. The goals are attainable and age-appropriate but we expect the best from our Cadets - and we usually get it!

Of the private boarding schools, the Marine Military Academy is the only one in the world based on the traditions, values, and ideals of the United States Marine Corps. Although academics are the backbone of any educational organization, leadership is the muscle here at MMA. Cadets learn through a structured, traditional military school environment self-discipline, teamwork, motivation, how to follow, and how to lead.

MMABecause the Marine Military Academy is an all-male boarding school with no day students, we have 24-hours a day and seven days a week to tailor the environment to meet the specific needs of young men. 'Brotherhood,' 'positive peer-pressure' and 'teamwork' are but a few concepts foreign to many cadets prior to enrollment. But from their first day on campus, cadets notice something different about their peers. Cadets encourage one another to make good grades, they pat one another on the back for a job well done, and more importantly, they are not afraid to correct one another for an infraction of the rules.

The cadets reside two to a room in one of six dormitory-style barracks supervised by a former Marine Staff Non-commissioned Officer (SNCO) called a drill instructor (DI). The six DIs and their families provide the discipline, daily routine, and care for approximately 50-60 8th through 12th grade cadets who live in their barracks.

All boarding schools are not alike. Marine Military Academy is committed to academic excellence and to the academy's core values -- honor, courage, and commitment.
