The Marine Military Academy (MMA) is unique among military academies and secondary institutions. Its very foundation was framed from the desire to emulate those tried and true Marine traditions and values that have earned the respect and gratitude of our great nation. In a world where many prefer to take shortcuts and offer less than their personal best effort, the Marine Military Academy challenges each cadet to strive for excellence and his highest potential. The goals for personal excellence extend through academics, athletics/physical activities, moral and other personal endeavors. Each young man who enters the Marine Military Academy is a unique individual with a variety of strengths and weaknesses. It is the responsibility of our entire staff to discover methods and seek opportunities to provide the skills and tools necessary to assist each young cadet who walks through our gates at the Marine Military Academy. When a cadet graduates, we want him to have the academic foundation, morality, self-confidence, self-discipline and leadership traits that will guide him successfully throughout the remainder of his life.

The cadet rank structure is used at many military academies. At MMA, the cadet rank structure emulates that of the Marine Corps and cadets also have the unique opportunity to earn leadership positions and actually develop their character. It is here that a cadet acquires more self-confidence, improved people skills, and time management skills. Once a cadet has established that he can care for himself, he may be afforded the chance to care for his peers as well. When a cadet achieves good grades, demonstrates maturity, respect, begins to develop good decision making skills by showing that he is a positive influence on others he may move up in rank, take on more responsibility and gain privileges.
