MMA Bicycling
The MMA cycling team is one of the smallest activities with normally three to five Cadets. The size is limited due to the requirement for training off campus on local roads with coaches riding with the team. The team generally trains four to five days each week with rides from 20 to 25 miles each day. Team members are taught bicycle maintenance, team pack riding, and both team and individual riding strategy. Interested Cadets must provide their own bikes and helmets (which must be worn during all rides) and should be in good physical condition. The riding season normally begins with the end of the swimming season in February and continues until the end of the second semester. The MMA cycling team participate in various rides throughout Texas during the biking season such as The Border Surf and Citrus, The Armadillo Classic, Clean Air Ride, and the Wild Flower Steeple Chase & Tour.
