Programs Offered at Marine Military Academy:
Marine Military Academy is a college preparatory boarding school for young men in grades 8-12 and offers one year for optional post-graduate study. The nine-month academic year begins in mid-August and continues through late May. Applications are accepted at any time, but new students must register only at the beginning of a semester (August and January). The 2008-2009 Academic year begins August 16, 2008 and ends May 30, 2009. Registration for Mid-Term is in January. The tuition, room, board, and fees for uniforms and laundry/cleaning for Academic Year 2008-2009 is $26,150.
Summer Camp: Summer Camp is a four-week program of physical fitness and military training for young men 13-17 years old. Applications for admission are accepted until camp is full (approximately 300 campers). The 2008 Summer Camp program begins June 28th, 2008 and ends July 26th, 2008. The total cost for Summer Camp 2008 is $3750 and includes application fee, uniforms, room and board and activities.
English as a Second Language: English as a Second Language (ESL) is a four-week summer program of intense immersion in the English language for foreign students ages 13-17. It includes 40 hours/week of class instruction as well as military training and physical fitness activities. Applications for admission are accepted until the ESL class is full (approximately 40 students) for the 2008 class that will begin June 28th, 2008 and ends July 26th, 2008. The total cost for ESL is $3750 and includes the application fee, uniforms, room, board.
Qualifications for Enrollment:
What kind of young man belongs at the Marine Military Academy? Acceptance to the Academy is based on a number of factors -- prior academic, health and disciplinary history. Because of the nature of this challenging academic setting, the Admissions Committee looks for a young man who has the potential to adapt to our program. He must be physically fit, emotionally strong and capable of meeting the demands of a tough college prep program.

Upon receipt of these forms, the Admissions Committee will review the file. The Committee's decision is based on the contents of the file alone unless the applicant has toured the Academy and met with key academic, military and administrative personnel. Enrollment at the Academy is limited. Should we receive applications with similar or equal credentials, slots are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Campus Tour: If you would like to tour the MMA campus, plan to visit any weekday when class is in session. If you fly to Harlingen's Valley International Airport on Southwest or Continental Airlines and notify the Admission Office at least 24-hours in advance, we will provide transportation to and from the airport. If you drive to Harlingen, the Marine Military Academy is located in the northeast area of town next to the Airport off Loop 499. From Hwy 77 follow the signs to the Valley International Airport and you will see signs for Marine Military Academy.

Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefits: The department of Veterans Affairs has accepted the approval issued by the Texas Workforce for Marine Military Academy, in Harlingen, Texas, which is effective August 13, 2003. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Facility Code is 3-5-0848-43. If you have questions about VA benefits and eligibility for you, please refer to www.gibill.va.gov. It is best to refer directly to the VA for questions about basic eligibility in programs.
Loan Programs: Loan programs make tuition payments more affordable by providing up-front funds to the Academy but let families spread the payments over a longer period of time than our tuition payment plans allow.
