Cross Country

The MMA cross country team, coached by Bill Hinkle, competes with local high school teams in the Rio Grande Valley. The cross country season begins in August with the beginning of school and continues until the TAPPS state meet which is held in October. Cadets joining this junior varsity and varsity sport are all highly motivated and certainly dedicated athletes. Practices are very demanding, as the team often runs three to five miles on a daily basis, in a variety of settings. While all Cadets are allowed to join the MMA cross country squad, only those meeting TAPPS requirements are allowed to compete at the state meet in San Antonio.
