English Department

Focus

Advanced placement at top colleges and universities requires extensive study in core disciplines in the English language. The English Department at the Marine Military Academy consists of five levels of core instruction with advanced courses in grades nine through twelve. Instruction is based on the philosophy that mastery of English as a discipline requires extensive study in the subjects of grammar, composition, literature, vocabulary, research, and speech.

The alignment of curriculum across the five levels allows for these subjects to be addressed and reinforced at each level thereby thoroughly preparing the Cadet in the fundamentals of reading, writing, and public speaking.
