MMA will hold its 46th Annual Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 26 at 11 a.m. in the Colonel Phillip Yeckel Memorial Auditorium.

Cadet Andrew Hodge of Richardson, Texas, awarded a $530 check to La Posada Providencia in San Benito, Texas, on May 2.

MMA announced and recognized its Cadets of the Month for April 2012 on April 27.

MMA named Michael McGraw of Dallas as the recipient of the 2012 MacArthur Cadet Award on April 27. McGraw is one of only 25 high school cadets in the nation to receive this award.

Over 20 alumni returned to their former home and alma mater for the 2012 Alumni Reunion April 27 and 28.

The Boy Scouts from MMA Troop 22 and St. Alban's Troop 206 earned their Fire Safety Merit Badge on April 24. Over the exciting five-week course, the Boy Scouts learned first-hand about fire prevention and extinguishing from the firefighters of the Harlingen Fire Department.

Delta Company and Fox Company were the last two teams to battle in the MMA Intramural Soccer Championship on April 14. Delta Company won the soccer tournament with a score of 3-0.

The MMA Drill Team beat out 18 other schools in the region at the Rio Grande Valley Skills Competition on March 24. In addition to winning the Best Overall trophy, the Leathernecks also placed first in the Armed Drill and Exhibition Drill categories.

All MMA alumni from the inagural 1966 class through 2011 are encouraged to return to their alma mater to reconnect and reminisce at the 2012 reunion, which will be held the weekend of April 27-29 at South Padre Island's Hilton Garden Inn.

Rock climbing began as an activity at the Marine Military Academy in 1999 under the supervision of GySgt Raul Garcia, a lifelong climber. 

This is the first in a series of articles on the extra curricular activities at the Marine Miltary Academy which will appear over the next few weeks.  During this series we will cover boxing, climbing, weight lifting, drill team/color guard, band, rifle team, taekwondo and sailing.

The previous seven parts to this series provided some details on the various events on the Marine Military Academy Leadership Enhancement and Development Complex (LEAD Complex).   

The Marine Military Academy will be holding registration for the spring semester on Saturday, 7 January 2012.

The Marine Military Academy Speed March Reaction Course was one of the first three courses built at the Academy in 1999.
