College Placement

The College Placement Office, staffed by Mrs. Robin Farris, provides Cadets with individualized guidance on educational planning, scholarship and financial aid guidance, career counseling, and complete college application processing. This office works intimately with the Registrar and Dean in developing Cadets' graduation plans that provide maximum college-choice opportunity. With hundreds of catalogs and brochures from colleges and universities, over 150 on-campus video tours, dozens of reference books filled with college related information, internet connection for on-line research and applications, the college room provides Cadets complete college processing services. In addition, many college representatives visit the school each year to visit personally with the Cadets.

The college placement program provides for class and group counseling during the eighth, ninth and tenth grades and individualized scheduled counseling in the junior and senior year. SAT Preparatory Class, a required, one semester course for all Cadets staffed by Miss Michele Pickens, provides intensified test practice and instruction in testing techniques and career guidance.

With the Marine Military Academy being a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC), Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) and the College Board, Mrs. Farris is able to maintain and develop personal contact with admissions professionals at the college and university level.
